Analysing SAP PM usage in an enterprise

In many enterprises , there are two routes for cost booking . Directly through MM route (PR-PO-SE/GR-LIV)  (Cost is debited directly to cost center) and another route through PM order (PM order -PR-PO-GR/SES-LIV) . Only if second route is followed properly , you will get equipmentwise/FL wise cost (orders are created for FL/Equipment) . If both routes are open ,  generally people tend to follow first route  as it is easy to remember few costcenters than to search orders .

This blog is about how to handle such issues

How to analyze  PM usage in an enterprise
A)  Tracking of Preventive Maintenance Schedules:
TCode –IP24
1)Want to see which plants have completed  preventive maintenance schedule  from a specific schedule start date
What will you see ?
You will see   maintenance plan and its associated  details
Variants  (You can create your own variants to choose different layouts)
  1. Find those maintenance plans which are not yet completed ?  (keep completion date blank and start date as specific date and give planning plants as needed.
  2. Find which maintenance plans have been skipped ? (By choosing scheduling status)

B)How to monitor whether PM is being used in a company by comparing Order cost Vs direct cost center cost
  1. How to know how much is directly booked through cost center (i.e one has not used PM order . In effect , the cost can not be found against equipment / FL)

Step 1- Go to cost center reporting- T code S_ALR_87013616
B) Through T-code MCIS , see the Total cost booked in PM order (Settled + unsettled order cost)
MCIS for plant 3404
Total cost = C (PM order cost) (MCIS report)+ A(Direct cost center booking )( S_ALR_87013616 report
% of PM Module usage  = 100 * C (i.e MCIS cost)/ Total cost (i.e C+A)
